At Brondes Ford in Toledo, OH, Ford introduces a new performance package along with several other updates. Four new colors—Grabber Lime, Iconic Silver, Red Hot Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, and Twisted Orange —are available and the FordPass Connect system, which works via smartphones to do things like locate a parked car or remotely start it, comes standard.

Trims for the Mustang include EcoBoost, EcoBoost Premium, GT, and Bullitt. The EcoBoost, EcoBoost Premium, and GT are available as either a fastback or a convertible.

The EcoBoost Mustang features a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder Ecoboost engine that makes 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. The EcoBoost equipped with the 10-speed automatic will return 21 mpg city, 32 highway, and 25 combined. With the manual, fuel-economy ratings drop 1 mpg on the highway. The GT and Bullitt share the same 5.0-liter V8 engine that makes 460 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. Though they share the same engine, the Bullitt gets another 20 hp. This engine will manage 16, 25, and 19 with an automatic and 15, 24, and 18 with a 6-speed manual transmission.

The new EcoBoost High-Performance package boosts horsepower to 330 hp and adds features like an alloy strut tower brace, larger brake calipers, a limited-slip differential, and bigger front and rear sway bars. Also available on the base EcoBoost Mustang is the Handling Package, which features semi-metallic brakes, specially calibrated Magne Ride dampers, a special limited-slip rear axle, and wider wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires. The Mustang GT is available with a Performance Package Level 2, which stiffens the suspension and adds Brembo 6-piston brakes.

New 17-inch sparkle silver aluminum wheels come standard on the base EcoBoost trim. Options include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a better stereo. Trunk space in the coupe maxes out at 13.5 cubic feet. For convertibles, it drops to 11.4 cu. ft. The Ecoboost Premium includes heated and cooled seats, leather, and Sync 3 standard. The Mustang comes standard with safety features including side-curtain airbags and electronic stability control.
